On Thursday, March 20 2014, 11 Wisconsin leaders will receive recognition awards from Diverse & Resilient at a celebration of the life of Bayard Rustin, African American civil rights leader and promoter of social justice and nonviolence. Among the award recipients are youth, allies, program staff, and organizations honored for their efforts on behalf of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community in Wisconsin.

2014 Leadership Conference Engages & Inspires

The 2014 Wisconsin LGBTQ Leadership Conference was a great success, with over 150 people from across the State of Wisconsin attending. We partnered with our good friends at Fair Wisconsin to host this third annual conference that brings together LGBTQ leaders and allies to learn, improve skills, network, and make change.
Diverse & Resilient Launches Artist in Residence Program

Diverse & Resilient is partnering with the Mary Nohl Foundation to offer an artist in residence program for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender participants in 2014. Visual artist Maureen Kane and improv theater group Playback Milwaukee Theatre will mentor participants in creating their own works of art to display publicly throughout the year.
All People’s Church Addresses HIV & the Role of the Faith Community

Everett L. Marshburn Honored with Bayard Rustin Award from Diverse & Resilient

Diverse & Resilient is pleased to honor television producer Everett L. Marshburn with the second-annual Bayard Rustin Leadership Award. Marshburn is the producer of Milwaukee Public Television’s Black Nouveau, an award-winning program that examines issues, culture, history, heritage, and challenges facing and affecting African Americans.
