Julius Pittman

Peer Navigator

Julius is a born Milwaukeean who is expanding his role as an advocate for the LGBTQ community.  He has been a part of three different cohorts including Engaging Communities around HIV Organizing (ECHO), Building Young Leaders of Color (BYLOC), and the Youth Initiative (YI).  With the help of his national partners, he was able to host his first annual World AIDS Day Brunch where he reached out to his community to help destigmatize the lives of MSM of color living with HIV in the city of Milwaukee.  He has continued to develop his advocate role by becoming a peer navigator here at Diverse & Resilient.  Julius wants to be able to use his knowledge to understand how to decrease the number of community members disproportionately affected by HIV.
