Eddie grew up in Milwaukee fully aware of the existing health disparities that African Americans face every day and from that grew an interest in public health. After serving two years with AmeriCorps, he decided to continue his education in community engagement at UW–Milwaukee with plans to acquire a master’s in public health; he plans to attend Washington University in St. Louis. Eddie brings with him his experience in a classroom setting working with youth in grades K4–12 and his experience counseling youth one-on-one about sexual and reproductive health into his position with Diverse & Resilient as the Healthy Youth program coordinator. His larger career goals are to record special populations to analyze how public policies and programs affect them to teach what works and doesn’t works when creating policies / programs for these populations.
