Bethamie Wyatt (she/her)
Director of Community Programs
As the Director of Community Programs, Bethamie brings a strong passion and commitment toward decolonial and anti-oppression work that benefits BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. Specifically, Bethamie has focused on providing leadership that emphasizes the wholeness and well-being of her team members by cultivating workspaces rooted in openness, collaboration and a sense of community care.
Bethamie brings over two decades of experience working in community-based programming. Beginning as a community organizer in Milwaukee, then a youth program coordinator linking schools, universities and local agencies in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Bethamie found her way back to Milwaukee, serving as Diverse and Resilient’s Healthy Youth Coordinator in 2014. Since then, Bethamie has strengthened her knowledge and understanding of the health disparities faced by LGBTQ people while in her subsequent role as HIV Prevention Manager at Diverse & Resilient.
Bethamie‘s work in the field of mental health and holistic health, creating and implementing wellness programming and international retreats, has positioned her to hold a deeper perspective around the trauma faced by those living at the intersections of marginalized identities.
