We are thrilled to announce an upcoming daylong conference designed for adults and youth, school and community professionals, and those interested in addressing the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth.
Safe Schools, Safe Communities is a culmination of ten years of program development and evaluation, resulting in a statewide model for LGBT youth development. Participants will learn about ways to support this population through school-based and community-based programs. Participants will also gain an increased understanding of the harassment, prejudice, stereotypes, and family issues facing LGBT youth.
Conference keynote speakers include Gary Hollander, PhD and Paul Wesselman. Workshops topics include What every GSA advisor should know about GSAs, LGBT issues in curriculum, Mental health services for LGBT youth, and many many others.
The $80 early bird (on or before February 11th)/$90 regular conference registration includes breakfast and lunch for the day. To register today, you may call Mark at 414-390-0444 or markoneil@diverseandresilient.org.
