A COMMENDATION

Whereas, Ita Meno has provided critical leadership and support to the Rainbow Alliance for Youth, the Diverse and Resilient Project, and to positive youth development activities for LGBT youth in Wisconsin; and
Whereas, Ita Meno has pioneered prevention case management with young sexual minority youth; and,
Whereas, Ita Meno has created a leadership development and empowerment programs for young women; and,
Whereas, Ita Meno has led the way in creating safe environments for youth and has shown young people the potential for creating self-governance; and,
Whereas, Ita Meno has fostered the application of experiential education with young people of color and has introduced art and creative expression to a group of young people least likely to receive these services; and
Whereas, Ita Meno lives and guides with integrity and strength to make our communities more just for all,
Now therefore, I, Jim Doyle, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, do hereby commend Ita Meno for her passion and dedication in service to the youth of the State of Wisconsin.
