HIV Counseling, Testing, and Referral (CTR)

Diverse and Resilient offers comprehensive HIV Counseling, Testing, and Referral (CTR) services to African American gay and bisexual men, one of the populations at high risk for acquiring or transmitting HIV in Milwaukee.

The program provides individual risk assessment, counseling, HIV testing, and referrals to services for HIV-positive people and high-risk negatives.  These services are provided to increase the number of men who know their HIV status, encouraging and supporting men to adopt behaviors to reduce their risk of HIV/STD transmission, and ensuring that men are linked to appropriate medical, social, prevention, and partner services as needed.

The CTR program is one component of a comprehensive approach to addressing sexual health for gay and bisexual men, particularly young gay and bisexual men of color.  Other parts of the program include leadership development, outreach, small group education, retreats, community planning, and agency consultations.

Appointments for HIV testing can be made by calling 414-390-0444 and asking for Ronnie.  Diverse and Resilient also offers open drop in testing hours on Thursday evenings from 4-8pm and Friday evenings from 3-7pm.
